G’day is what we Melbourne girls always say. It’s typical Aussie lingo for your more formal greeting of Good morning, or Good Afternoon or whatever. Most of you guys just say ‘hi’. That’s cool too I suppose. We do it here too, y’know. Just so you know I’ll be switching off my Aussie way of talking, as though I were talking with my mates, and addressing you guys in a less colloquial sort of way. This is not to suggest that I think we should all go formal like, but mainly so the lot of you reading this cool blog on girls’ stuff in Melbourne will understand what the heck we’re all talking about over here.

But at the end of it all, we’re still all going to be having loads of fun. I decided to go with the Melbourne Girly Girl title on purpose. Right from the beginning, I wanted you girls to recognise that this blog is a fun blog talking about stuff that mainly interests girls our age and such. I’m writing out of my home town of Melbourne. It can’t be helped. I was born and raised here and I’ve never even left Australia to go out and see the world.

That’s not to say I haven’t had my opportunities. But before I get carried away, let me quickly put you in the loop on the first batch of posts that are likely to be coming up for publication. Hope you enjoy the lot of them and please press the like button if you haven’t got a mo’ to make a comment or two. My name’s Mel, by the way. Yeah, I know, it sounds corny, me naming myself after my favourite city. But let’s just say for now that this is my pen name.

I started this blog initially because I like to talk. I talk so much that it was decided by others that rather than talk such a lot, I should write about stuff instead. That way I get to reach out to a lot more girlfriends than I could ever have imagined. And if I feel like it, I can talk to the blokes too, particularly the Aussie rules blokes. Many of you reading this stuff might not be from around these parts so I’ll be explaining why we’re so mad about Aussie rules, and I’ll be giving you brief tours in and around Melbourne.

I’ll also be chatting about things of personal and mutual interest, things such as fashion, make up and treatments and stuff. But in every which way, I’ll be going for the killer punch. I don’t want to end up just regurgitating on things already said and done. I’m a unique bird so I aim to keep it that way in my writing too.

Maybe you want to come over and visit us someday? I’ll try my utmost to entice you. Don’t forget there’s other unusual places to see and things to do. Maybe I’ll squeeze some of that in too, who knows. I’m going to try and be as helpful as I can with the beauty and skin care element, so expect to read info you can use.

Here’s hoping you’ll all enjoy what I have to show and tell you all. Enjoy!
